JRS Lenten Series: A Time for Encounter with Refugees

This season of Lent, Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) invites you to reflect on our attitudes toward refugees and other forcibly displaced persons. Do we see them as threats, or as brothers and sisters in need? Do we turn away, or do we open our hearts to their suffering?

Hopeful Planet

Those displaced by climate events often lack protections due to the absence of global infrastructure granting them asylum or refugee status. Yet, communities worldwide are rising to this challenge, fostering change and resilience to create a Hopeful Planet.

#EmpowerHer

Displaced women and girls face unique risks compared to their male counterparts. JRS addresses these challenges through a comprehensive strategy that includes mental health support, livelihoods programs, gender-responsive education, and peace initiatives.

Peace Artisans

Global challenges and instability are undermining peace, leaving forcibly displaced people facing incredible hardships and neglect. Yet, through compassion, solidarity, and welcome, JRS brings hope by accompanying those in the most forgotten contexts.

Dear Neighbor: JRS MENA & JRS/USA Documentary Series

Refugees are your neighbors. They are ordinary people living with extraordinary circumstances. Take the time to meet a few people who have received services from JRS across the Middle East as they tell you what they wish you knew about them.

Supporting Education for Refugees

In 2015, JRS launched the Global Education Initiative, an ambitious international campaign to expand our education programmes to serve 250,000 refugees worldwide by 2020. Dr. Mireille Twayigira, JRS Refugee Education Advocate, worked with us to promote awareness about the reality of young students growing up in refugee camps.
