A Prayer for Advocates on JRS/USA Advocacy Day

O Blessed Virgin Mary,

On this sacred day, as we remember the Annunciation and your profound

“yes” to God’s call, we turn to you in prayer. You, who said “yes” in faith, courage, and humility, inspire us to do the same as we stand in advocacy for those who are displaced and seeking refuge.

You, who bore the Christ Child into the world with love and compassion, intercede for us as we advocate for the migrants and refugees in our midst.

Help us to carry the message of hope and dignity for all God’s children, especially those who have been forced to flee their homes.

May our voices reflect your willingness to listen to God’s call and respond with an open heart.

We ask for your intercession with the elected officials we meet today. Just as you said “yes” to God’s plan, may they too be open to the call for justice and mercy. Guide their hearts and minds so they may see the humanity in every migrant and refugee and make decisions that protect and care for them, just as God has called us to do.

Help us, O Mother of Mercy, to speak with courage and compassion, to embody your strength and grace as we advocate on behalf of those in need who have been overlooked and unattended. May your example of unwavering faith inspire us to act with conviction, knowing that our work is not just for political change, but for the building of God’s kingdom of love and peace here on earth.

Virgin Mary, on this Feast of the Annunciation, we place our hearts, our hopes, and our efforts in your hands. Guide us in this journey of advocacy, and may your “yes” echo in all we do, for the glory of God and the good of all people.

Amen.
